Yūgumo
Mục IX Khu trục hạm · Nhật Bản
Rating D (Bottom tier within its tier and class · overall score 6) · Độ bền Khu trục hạm
An improved Kagerō, but at tier IX this Japanese destroyer lacks both firepower and survivability. Its 10.2 km torpedoes can be launched 4.08 km beyond its 6.12 km detectability, so stealth torpedoing is easy, but torpedo DPM is 8% below average and it has to make each spread count. Its six 127 mm guns reload in 5.5 s for HE DPM 19% below average, and AP penetration of only about 89 mm means gunfights should be avoided. Its 17,669 effective HP is about 13% below average and it has only two smokes, so once spotted at a tier full of strong destroyer hunters it doesn't last long. Its small hull, which takes fewer hits, is the one consolation.

The Yūgumo-class destroyers were an updated version of the Kagerō class, and were equipped with the same weapons. The main changes were adjustments to the bridge layout to improve handling in heavy seas, and improved elevation angles for the main guns to let them engage aircraft.
