A Spanish heavy cruiser with 3-salvo burst fire, rare in Blitz: it unloads three salvos (22,302 combined) in a short span, then reloads for 34.2 s. At 3.87 fires per minute (before modifiers), 23% above average, it normally sets fires with HE, and the key is timing the burst for when an enemy cruiser shows broadside or a battleship has just used its Damage Control Party. Dispersion at 10 km is about 198 m, 11% tighter than average. It has no smoke, but Sonar I and Air Defense Alert II provide basic protection. Range is a short 10.98 km and its 5.4 km torpedoes are a backup weapon.

One of the variants of the Washington cruiser project, proposed to the Spanish Navy by the Vickers-Armstrongs company, and based on the Emerald-class hull but equipped with seven 203 mm guns in one (bow) three-gun and two twin-gun turrets. A linear arrangement of the boiler and engine rooms was adopted to ensure space saving for the propulsion unit. The ship was supposed to be faster than her original and have a catapult; however, preference was given to the project variant, which became the basis for the Baleares class of ships.
