The first ship of the US hybrid battleship line, based on the North Carolina hull. The flight deck forces all six 406 mm guns forward, which lets it use its full main battery while bow-on. However, main battery DPM of 33,729 is 28% below average, so its gunnery is weak. Every 94 s it launches bombers to spot enemies behind islands and strike beyond gun range, but all bombs rarely hit, making it closer to supplementary damage. AA 34% above average makes it strong against carriers. A 28.91 kn top speed makes repositioning easy, but the long flight deck soaks many shells, so it is shredded quickly when showing broadside.

In the process of designing the North Carolina-class battleships, the "F project" was developed—a combination of a battleship and aircraft carrier. However, the preliminary design didn't include a flight deck: The aircraft were supposed to be launched by catapults, and the air group was extremely small. If necessary, the project could have been reworked as a full-fledged hybrid battleship-carrier with the hangar transferred to the stern and a flight deck installed.
