It can split powerful torpedoes across multiple squadrons, making it a nightmare for destroyers while also dealing heavy flooding damage to cruisers and battleships. Bombing potential is 51% below average, so its bombers serve mostly as scouts and decoys. Many squadrons keep your hands busy and the hull is weak at 40,688 effective HP, so performance varies greatly with skill. With stronger carriers like Franklin D. Roosevelt and Wasp now more common, it is no longer as dominant as it once was.
