The Black version of Montana; patch 9.4 cut the reload of its twelve 406 mm guns from 22 to 20 s, raising AP DPM to 71,424 (22% above average). Instead of Rapid Reload or Precise Aiming System it gets Radar II (8.1 km), Scout Plane I, and Engine Accelerator I, shifting it from burst firepower toward spotting and support. Radar reveals destroyers and cruisers in smoke so allies can focus them, and the Scout Plane extends range to pressure distant targets. AA of 1,065 is 24% above average, making it solid against carriers. However, 12.54 km detectability and a 19.5 s rudder shift make it sluggish, and pushing ahead alone invites focus fire.
