A French tech-tree destroyer that fights with HE fires and range. Its six 130 mm guns fire every 4.3 s for 34,577 HE DPM, 18% above average, and fire potential of 3.7 per minute (before modifiers) keeps big ships burning from 8.88 km. Instead of smoke it has four charges of Emergency Engine Boost (+25% speed and acceleration, 10 s), escaping by opening distance in a short, sharp burst when spotted. Per the wiki it gains more torpedo launchers at this tier, useful for close-range anti-destroyer harassment. However, the wiki considers its AP weak, and its 8.2°/s turn rate is on the slow side, so shells and torpedoes must be dodged early.

This destroyer is essentially an enlarged version of Le Hardi with upgraded anti-aircraft and torpedo armament. The Spanish Civil War highlighted the heightened threat that aviation posed to ships, so in the late 1930s and early 1940s, consideration was given to reworking the Le Hardi project to enhance the power of her air defense systems.
