A US premium destroyer that mounts a bomber on a Fletcher hull. Per the wiki it is Fletcher minus one gun and one torpedo launcher plus a bomber, launched every 60 s to reveal enemies behind islands and strike beyond gun range. However, its four 127 mm guns have HE DPM 13% below average and its torpedo salvo is 38% below average, so direct firepower is lacking. The wiki adds that the bomber's low fire chance makes fire damage from air strikes hard to get. It is fast, with a 38.09 kn top speed and 6.9 s acceleration, and has decent utility in two charges each of Sonar I and Smoke Generator II plus four of Engine Boost I, but lacks the firepower to capitalize.

USS Halford, a Fletcher-class destroyer, received a catapult for a float plane in place of her aft torpedo mount and one of her main guns, allowing the ship to launch a Kingfisher scout observation plane. The catapult turned out not to be operationally suitable for the intended purpose and was ultimately removed from Halford in October 1943. In 1944, the ship provided covering fire for amphibious operations on the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, and the Philippines; she took part in battles in the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf.
