Mục VIII Tuần dương hạm · U.K.
Rating A- (Above average+ within its tier and class · overall score 66) · Độ bền Tuần dương hạm
A British light cruiser following Fiji, firing AP from twelve 152 mm guns every 7.5 s, with 2 charges of Smoke Generator II (28 s duration). Its British-style AP rarely overpenetrates destroyers, so from smoke it takes a same-tier destroyer's HP in about 149 s on paper. A 10.47 s acceleration, 7.8°/s turning, and a small hull make battleship shells easy to dodge, and 7.68 km detectability means it is rarely spotted first. Its British straight-line torpedoes fire without a spread, but the small salvo makes them mostly defensive. In exchange, 32,657 effective HP and thin armor mean it collapses fast under focus fire, and without HE it is weak against battleships.

The most powerful light cruiser in the Royal Navy during World War II. She surpassed most other same-type ships in terms of armor protection and inherited powerful main guns from her predecessors. Among other Royal Navy cruisers of the 1930s, Edinburgh carried more powerful AA weapons.
