Tier VIII · Battleship · U.S.A. · Premium
Rating B (Average within its tier and class · overall score 51) · Gunnery battleship
Gunnery battleship, suited to AA escort. Its AP broadside of 17,631 is 10% above average, so every salvo hits hard. Strong AA fends off carrier strikes well. Key skills: Rapid Reload II ×2 (main battery reload +43%, 20 s); Air Defense Alert I ×2. Sluggish rudder shift means you must start turning early to dodge shells and torpedoes.

USS Washington (BB-56) was the second and last of the North Carolina-class fast battleships—the first of their type built for the U.S. Navy. She was laid down in 1938 and completed in May 1941, when the United States was still neutral in World War II. She initially trained along the East Coast until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, bringing the U.S. into the war.
