Three charges of Fuel Smoke III plus Engine Boost let it close distance or open an escape route, and its 9.6 km torpedoes outrange its 8.88 km detectability for stealth torpedo attacks. Its 254 mm main guns, however, reload in 14.0 s, leaving AP DPM 34% below average and making it weak in long-range gunnery. Recent tier lists rate it in the upper tier.
