Rating C (Weak within its tier and class · overall score 30) · Torpedo cruiser
Torpedo cruiser, suited to air scouting, DD hunting. It is especially strong against cruisers and battleships (AP deals a same-tier cruiser's HP in about 3 min on paper). Launching aircraft every 84 s lights up enemies behind islands and near smoke, a big scouting asset for the team, and its torpedo-bomber strikes (8 torpedoes at 1,357 each) reach targets beyond gun range. A full torpedo spread can deal up to 25,134 (all launchers combined). Torpedo DPM is 15% higher than average. Its firepower trails other cruisers, so pick favorable angles and ranges over straight DPM races.

- Top speed: 34.19 kn
- Surface detectability: 7.8 km
- Main battery: 203 mm 4X2 · reload 9.5 s · range 11.1 km
A well-armed heavy cruiser with an unconventional arrangement for her main battery guns, which were placed on her fore end. Her speed and torpedo armament matched those of preceding Japanese cruisers, but she had heavier armor and more efficient AA defenses.
