Tier X · Destroyer · U.S.A. · Premium
Rating B- (Below average within its tier and class · overall score 45) · Stealth torpedo destroyer
The culmination of US torpedo destroyers, widely considered better than Gearing in almost every way except AA. Its torpedo salvo deals 49,368, and torpedo DPM is 35% above the tier-X destroyer average. Two charges of Torpedo Reload I instantly refill a launcher, allowing back-to-back spreads when a good opportunity arises. Short 6.24 km detectability gives a full 3.7 km margin to fire its 9.9 km torpedoes unseen, and 3 charges of Smoke Generator II plus a nimble 3.3 s rudder shift support its survival. However, its 58 kn torpedoes aren't fast and are easy to dodge at long range, main battery DPM is 22% below average, and it has almost no AA.
