Ibuki
Tier IX · Cruiser · Japan
Rating C- (Quite weak within its tier and class · overall score 20) · Torpedo cruiser
Torpedo cruiser, suited to torpedo ambush. It is especially strong against battleships (HE deals a same-tier battleship's HP in about 6 min on paper · torpedoes supply 40% of it). Its 9.6 km torpedoes outrange its 8.22 km detectability by 1.4 km, ideal for stealth ambushes. Top speed of 34.6 kn is 1.8 kn above average, with good turning, rudder shift, acceleration. Detectability of 8.22 km is 1.04 km below average, so it is less likely to be spotted first. Its firepower trails other cruisers, so pick favorable angles and ranges over straight DPM races.
