Hiryū '41
Tier VIII · Aircraft Carrier · Japan · Premium
Rating D (Bottom tier within its tier and class · overall score 3) · Balanced carrier
A Japanese premium tier VIII carrier released through the Blitz Pass, which the wiki describes as essentially a Shōkaku in Hiryū's guise. Its bombing and torpedo potential match Shōkaku's: bombing is 61% below average and torpedoes are the main weapon. Compared with Shōkaku its fighters are weaker (15% below average) and it has fewer reserve torpedo bombers, but according to the wiki its rearm turnaround is better. Its 9.36 km detectability is shorter than Shōkaku's 10.8 km, making the ship easier to hide. AA is 15% below average and HP is a low 32,147, so the ship cannot hold out long under attack.

An aircraft carrier that had a prominent effect on the development of this type of ship in the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was a highly successful project that featured high speed, reasonably good AA defenses, and a sizable air group. Poor armor protection reduced the aircraft carrier's durability.
