The Guépard class was a group of large destroyers built for the French Navy between 1927 and 1931. Similar to the previous Jaguar class, they had a larger hull, slightly improved speed, and 139 mm guns of a new design.Several of the Guépard-class destroyers were scuttled during the sinking of the French Fleet at Toulon in November 1942. FR25 was one of the ships that the Italians wanted to raise and refurbish for use in their own navy, but this could not be completed before the end of the war.
