HMS Eagle was an Audacious-class aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy, and she was in service from 1951 through 1972. The carrier was completed to a substantially altered project and later underwent extensive modernization that allowed her to carry and operate the most advanced deck-based aircraft of the 1950s, including jet aircraft.
