Deutschland
Tier VI · Cruiser · Germany
Rating D (Bottom tier within its tier and class · overall score 5) · Durable cruiser
Durable cruiser, suited to tanking. It is weak against cruisers (AP deals a same-tier cruiser's HP in about 5 min on paper). 31,609 effective HP and a bow most big guns can't overmatch make it a frontline tank. Its AP broadside of 7,104 is 30% above average for big single hits. Key skills: Air Defense Alert I ×1; Sonar I ×1 (3.75 km, 25 s). Detectability of 9 km is 1.06 km above average, so it gets spotted early; move behind islands.

The first in a unique series of three ships, whose emergence had a significant impact on the development of both cruisers and battleships. Combining "battleship" guns with the size and speed of a cruiser, coupled with a huge range, she exemplified extremely dangerous ocean raiders. In the years following her completion, Deutschland undertook several voyages to the Atlantic and participated in the Spanish Civil War. At the beginning of World War II, she was deployed to disrupt Allied supply routes between Greenland and the Bermuda Islands.
