Black Yamato
Tier X · Battleship · Japan
Rating B- (Below average within its tier and class · overall score 43) · Durable battleship
The Black version of Yamato with nine 460 mm guns and 15.78 km range, and the first ship in Blitz to receive a Scout Plane. Activating Scout Plane I extends range by a further 12%, letting it go for up to 62,073 citadel damage even at long range. It also has Rapid Reload I, but with a 23.0 s reload the burst effect is modest. A slow 26.69 kn top speed and 12.6 km detectability make a bad opening position hard to recover from. It is seen as having lost some of its distinctiveness compared with the Yamato-based ships released since.
