Amalfi
Tier VIII · Cruiser · Italy
Rating B (Average within its tier and class · overall score 54) · Durable cruiser
Durable cruiser, suited to DD hunting. It is especially strong against cruisers and battleships (SAP deals a same-tier cruiser's HP in about 3 min on paper). Top speed of 36.6 kn is high, but sluggish rudder and acceleration make sudden dodges hard. Effective HP of 38,103 is 6% above average, and smoke, a small hull help it last. SAP deals heavy direct damage to destroyers, light cruisers and superstructures with no overpens, but it cannot start fires or damage armor thicker than its penetration. Detectability of 8.82 km is 0.3 km above average, so it gets spotted early; move behind islands.
